PLAN*et conducted a Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment to help inform staff and council of the current challenges and opportunities the City faces as it continues to grow. The needs assessment included updating the City parks and recreation facilities inventory and creating a geospatial database of park amenities. A best practices study and extensive public engagement including a bilingual online survey informed the development of an appropriate recreation facility Level of Service (LOS) for the City. In addition to Level of Service, our recommendations included partnership and communications opportunities to further enhance recreation services.
