Verde Valley Master Transportation Plan HIA

The Verde Valley includes the communities of Jerome, Sedona, Cottonwood, Cornville, Lake Montezuma, Oak Creek, Verde Village, and portions of the Yavapai-Apache Nation. The HIA examined the potential impacts on health from transportation improvements under consideration for inclusion in the Verde Valley Master Transportation Plan. While the Master Transportation Plan focused on roadways, capacity , and adjustments to the roadway network reflecting changes in project population growth, the HIA found that the biggest health benefits would arise from public transportation serving the area's large older and disabled population. The HIA process included public meetings and presentations to the Verde Valley Transportation master Plan Steering Committee.
